Novotel Bali Benoa Launches Colors of Nusantara A Celebration of Art, Fashion, People, Food and Cultural Tradition
Novotel Bali Benoa proudly launches Colors of Nusantara, marking the beginning of a vibrant series of events showcasing the richness of Indonesian art, fashion, community, culinary, and traditions, with a special spotlight on Balinese heritage.
The opening ceremony was held at the Penida Stage, Novotel Bali Benoa, on Friday, 15th August 2025, and was officially opened by Juliana Liew – General Manager of Novotel Bali Benoa, Drs. I Gusti Ngurah Wiryanata, M.Si – Daily Chairperson of Dekranasda Bali Province and Head of the Industry and Trade Department of Bali Province (Ketua Harian Dekranasda Provinsi Bali sekaligus Kepala Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Provinsi Bali), I Nyoman Darmawan – Secretary of Dekranasda Badung Regency (Sekretaris Dekranasda Kabupaten Badung), Anak Agung Indra Dwipayani from Agung Bali Collection, and AAG. Adiputra, SE., M.M. from Inkrebilitas Bali.
Colors of Nusantara is more than just an event – it is a tribute to art, cultural heritage, diversity, and inclusivity. The event is presented in collaboration with Agung Bali Collection, a brand renowned for transforming Bali’s traditional woven fabric, endek, into a wide range of innovative products such as fashion, bags, accessories, and beautiful home décor. The purpose of this initiative is to inspire communities to support local products, empower local talents, and celebrate the richness of the archipelago.
At the opening ceremony, collections of endek woven fabric from Agung Bali Collection and paintings by the innovative and creative disability community – Inkrebilitas Bali – were showcased to the guests. They also demonstrated their talents through live painting, coffee brewing by a blind barista, and reflexology demonstrations by blind therapists. The event also successfully auctioned three stunning paintings to international guests in attendance.
“Through Colors of Nusantara, we aim to strengthen our commitment to making a positive impact on society by providing space for local communities to showcase their extraordinary talents and creations,” said Juliana Liew, General Manager of Novotel Bali Benoa. “We hope to inspire our guests while also preserving the traditions and cultural heritage that make Indonesia so unique,” she added.
In her remarks, Anak Agung Indra Dwipayani from Agung Bali Collection said, “Through this collaboration, we want to invite everyone not only to see fabrics and paintings as works of art but also as bridges that connect hearts, cultures, and diversity.”
Meanwhile, Drs. I Gusti Ngurah Wiryanata, M.Si – Daily Chairperson of Dekranasda Bali Province and Head of the Industry and Trade Department of Bali Province, who officiated the opening, also expressed support and appreciation for Novotel Bali Benoa’s initiative. “Thank you, Novotel Bali Benoa and Agung Bali Collection, for giving attention and opportunities to artisans and our talented young disability artists. We hope this inspires others to show the same care and commitment,” he said in his remarks.
Colors of Nusantara – Art Exhibition showcases the paintings of I Komang Sudiarta, I Gede Agus Mertayasa, I Wayan Wahyu Mahameru S.Sn, and I Wayan Damai, disability artists from Inkrebilitas Bali, along with the endek woven fabric collections of Agung Bali Collection. The exhibition runs until 30th August 2025, at the lobby of Novotel Bali Benoa, from 8 AM – 6 PM. In addition to paintings, visitors can also discover a variety of other works by disability artists, including t-shirts, tote bags, coffee, and aromatic incense. All proceeds from sales will be given entirely to the disability artists.
Following this, the art exhibition will continue with works by Bali’s Maestro Artists in September, then a fashion show in October featuring endek collections by Agung Bali Collection. The celebration will culminate in December with a 2026 New Year’s Eve celebration, inviting guests to explore Indonesia’s rich culinary delights, performances, culture, and traditions – all without leaving Bali.
